Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Campus Movers website, student portal, and storage services. By registering for or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. About Campus Movers

Campus Movers is a student-focused storage and moving service based in Harrisonburg, Virginia. We serve students at James Madison University (JMU), Eastern Mennonite University (EMU), and Bridgewater College. Our services include pickup, storage, and delivery of personal belongings during summer and transitional periods.

Services are currently available within Virginia only. Registrations from outside our service area will not be accepted.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to register, or have a parent or guardian complete registration on your behalf
  • You must provide a valid Virginia pickup address
  • You must have a valid email address and phone number capable of receiving SMS messages

3. Registration & Account

To use our services, you must complete the registration form in our student portal, powered by Zoho Creator. During registration you will provide:

  • Full name, email address, and phone number
  • University, graduation year, and dorm or apartment information
  • Pickup and delivery addresses (Virginia addresses only)
  • Optional parent or guardian contact information

You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your account information. Campus Movers is not liable for issues arising from inaccurate or outdated contact details.

4. SMS Communications & Consent

SMS Opt-In Requirement: By checking the SMS consent box during registration, you provide express written consent to receive automated text messages from Campus Movers via Twilio. This consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

You agree to receive SMS text messages for the following service-related purposes:

  • Registration confirmation
  • Welcome Kit delivery notification
  • Pickup scheduling confirmations and reminders
  • Storage status updates (items received, in storage, ready for delivery)
  • Delivery scheduling and completion notifications
  • Payment confirmations and reminders
  • Account or service alerts

Message Frequency: You may receive up to 8–10 messages per active storage period, varying based on your lifecycle stage.

Message & Data Rates: Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply.

Opt-Out: Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe. You will receive one final confirmation message. Reply HELP for assistance. Reply START to re-subscribe.

Campus Movers is not responsible for delays or failures in SMS delivery caused by third-party carriers or network conditions.

5. Services & Storage Lifecycle

Our storage service operates across the following stages, managed through the Zoho Creator platform:

  • Registered – Account created, Welcome Kit dispatched
  • Welcome Kit Delivered – Storage materials delivered to student
  • Pickup Scheduled – Pickup date and time window confirmed
  • Items Picked Up – Items collected by Campus Movers team
  • In Storage – Items stored at our Harrisonburg facility
  • Delivery Scheduled – Return delivery date confirmed
  • Delivery Completed – Items returned to the student

Each stage triggers an automated email and SMS notification to the registered student and, if applicable, the parent or guardian on file.

6. Fees & Payments

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorize Campus Movers to charge your account as follows:

Monthly Storage – Welcome Kit $120/month Covers 3 boxes + 1 bag ($30 per item/month)
Storage Minimum 3-Month Minimum All storage subscriptions require a 3-month minimum commitment
Add-On Items Varies Additional fees apply for larger items (desks, mini-fridges, dressers, etc.)
Important: Your quoted storage price includes both pickup and delivery — there are no hidden fees for these services. This is a key differentiator from other storage providers.

Storage fees are billed on a recurring monthly basis. By registering, you authorize Campus Movers to charge your payment method each month for the duration of your storage term.

7. Cancellations & Fees

  • Early Cancellation: Cancellation before the 3-month minimum is fulfilled will result in an early cancellation fee. The fee amount will be communicated during registration and at time of cancellation request.
  • Missed Pickup: If a student is unavailable at the scheduled pickup time without prior notice, a missed pickup fee may apply.
  • Missed Delivery: A missed delivery fee may apply if a student is unavailable at the confirmed delivery window.
  • Cancellation requests must be submitted through the student portal or by contacting Campus Movers directly at info@campus-movers.com.

8. Item Policies

  • All items must be packed and ready for pickup at the scheduled time
  • Each item receives a unique package barcode ID for tracking via our Zoho Creator system
  • Campus Movers reserves the right to decline pickup of items deemed unsafe, hazardous, or prohibited by law
  • Campus Movers is not responsible for pre-existing damage to items prior to pickup
  • Students are responsible for accurately describing and labeling their items at time of registration

9. Service Area Restriction

Campus Movers currently serves pickup and delivery addresses within Virginia only. Registrations with out-of-state addresses will not be accepted. If you attempt to schedule a pickup or delivery outside of Virginia, you will receive a notification that your address is outside our service area.

10. Zoho Creator Platform

Our student portal and administrative systems are built on Zoho Creator. By using our portal, you acknowledge that your data is stored and processed within Zoho's cloud infrastructure. Use of the portal is subject to Zoho's applicable terms of service. Campus Movers configures and controls all data within the platform and is the data controller for your information.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Campus Movers shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services
  • Loss of or damage to stored items beyond our stated liability coverage
  • Delays in pickup or delivery caused by weather, traffic, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control
  • SMS delivery failures caused by carrier networks

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Rockingham County, Virginia.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or SMS notification, and the effective date will be updated accordingly. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
